About Supported Living
Supported Independent Living is funded and referred through Community Living BC (CLBC) on an hourly basis with services being coordinated and contracted through Community Options. Support is adapted to the unique support needs of each person served. CLBC will make the decision about the number of service hours received by the person served. Once the number of hours has been confirmed, COCF will work with the person served to develop the service which includes: location, hours, days and frequency of support. Some people need only a few hours of support each week and other people may need more. Community Options does not maintain a waitlist or apply fees.
Community Options will recruit the independent contractors on behalf of the person served: creating and monitoring the necessary contracts to ensure the best supports and services are in place as and when required. The contractor may help the person with activities such as shopping, cleaning, and maintaining the home or managing finances.
