Community Options is a Host Agency, registered with Community Living BC (CLBC). As such, we work in partnership with families and people with disabilities who receive Individualized Funding through CLBC to help them create the future they desire.
Families and individuals who have been approved for Individualized Funding may choose to have their funding go directly to Community Options. Community Options helps the person served and their family develop the service which includes: location, hours, days and frequency of support. Community Options does not maintain a waitlist or apply fees.
The person served and their family decide what kind of service they want and participate in choosing the support contractor. Community Options manages the documentation and payments to the contractor. The individual and their family decide how much involvement they want throughout the process. The type of support received by the person served depends on what is needed and wanted. Activities may include recreation, support with shopping or paying bills or support pursuing employment or volunteer opportunities and other daily living tasks.
