Community Options FAQs

Find the answers to your most FAQ’s including what type of support we offer and membership questions.

Who do you serve?

We provide support to people with developmental delays; some individuals may have physical disabilities or have a history of challenging behaviors. We match people to caregivers according to the interests, abilities and experiences of all involved.

What supports do you offer for the families of people with developmental disabilities?

We offer support groups for moms as well as recreational support groups for siblings. Our Family Support Program also offers a Lending Library and funding for Spring and Summer breaks, so that families can access childcare and recreational activities that may not be accessible otherwise. Do I need a membership to access Community Options services?

No, you don’t. However, some of our services (such as Spring and Summer funding) can’t be accessed without a membership. In addition, membership entitles you to the following:

  • Vote at the Annual General Meeting
  • Apply for Family Resource Funds
  • Borrow books and other resources from the Lending Library
